Industry
Industrial production index
is compiled in line with international standards.
The base formula for compiling the Laspeyres volume index.
The index compilation is based on data on production progress according to a
fixed set of representative goods (more than thousands of items) and the
structure of gross value added over the base year. Since
2011 in Ukraine (since 2013 by region)
index is produced by type of activity in
sections B, C, D (apart from group 35.3) and in line with the
Classification of Types of Economic
Activity (State Classifier 009:2010).
The index compilation in Ukraine prior to 2007 (by region before 2009) is based
on the chain-linked method on the basis of the monthly indices calculated using
the data from enterprises on the value of output over the month at comparable
prices.
Over
the extended periods, industrial production
indices are
compiled using
the
chain-linked method, i.e. by
multiplying the indices over the previous year for the needed period.
The output of
industrial products is shown to gross production, i.e. together with production
meant for the further processing
within one enterprises.
Information
about industrial is presented Nomenclature of Industrial Products
(NIP) which has been
harmonized
with the Statistical
Classification of Products by
Economic Activity of the European Community (CPA) and
Prodcom list of industrial products (PRODCOM)
and takes into account energy products.
Since
NIP differs considerably from the Nomenclature used before its implementation,
retrospective data are only given for selected products, where the indicators’
components match each other or could be made consistent.
