Domestic trade

 

Wholesale turnover is defined as resale of goods by enterprises without any changes (except conventional trade-related operations) to other enterprises and organisations (excluding individuals) for their consumption, subsequent resale either within Ukraine, or for exports. Wholesale turnover figures exclude VAT and excise tax. Conventional trade-related operations comprise weighting, sorting, packing, dividing into lots, distributing, stacking, mixing, etc. Goods ready for sale  refer to finished goods that are sold without further processing or modification.

In 2011 an issue concerning the classification of activity of enterprises engaged in wholesale of fuels and transactions with the natural gas and their reflection in the state statistical reporting has been resolved. Trade in the natural gas via the local pipelines refer to the economic activity: distribution and supplies of gas. In view of the above, the statistical recording of wholesale trade turnover of enterprises whose main activity is wholesale has been amended accordingly. Data for the previous years (2000/2010) meet the

common terms for statistical recording of wholesale trade.

Turnover of retail trade includes retail trade turnover of enterprises engaged in retail trade as well as estimated sales of consume goods though the retail trade network that belong to individual entrepreneurs and in markets.

Turnover of restaurant business includes retail trade turnover of enterprises engaged in restaurant business and since 2005, the estimated sales by though the restaurant network that belong to individual entrepreneurs.

Retail turnover of enterprises  refers to the value of consumer goods sold via retail trade and restaurants to the population  by all operating enterprises. It also includes direct retail sales by industrial, transport and other non-trade enterprises. In addition, retail turnover includes retail sales of food products to departments, organisations and enterprises to provide meals to the people they serve (at sanatoria, children’s care institutions, hospitals, etc). Monetary values reflect current prices; volume indices of trade turnover are shown at comparable prices.
